If you go down to Blythe Valley Park today and look carefully, you might spot some of the hedgehog hotels our community helped place around the park to help this endangered species, which has seen numbers decline by 50% since 2000.
This initiative was part of a recent Nature Walk event we created to promote biodiversity and wellbeing across the park — showcasing how we help nature thrive on the park and giving our community a welcome break from the office.
Thanks to John Murphy from our landscapers – Whitings – for leading the walk and sharing some top hedge facts!
🤔Did you know hedgehogs have been around for 15 million years, making them them one of the oldest living mammal species on the planet!
