On World Book Day (March 6) we’re relaunching our Book Exchange on the business park to celebrate how the love of books and reading can change people’s lives for good and by recycling them, help save the planet too!
We’re encouraging our community to bring in their old books to help someone else to discover them and swap them for a new one.
Increase Your Focus
With so many distractions in our daily lives, reading helps us learn to focus for longer periods of time and concentrate, longer than the 8.25 seconds of the average human attention span!
If you find an author who really inspires you, they can transport you to a whole new world and reading can become an experience for escapism and relaxation to reduce stress and anxiety.
Even if you can only manage a few pages before you fall sleep at night, it can be an important prompt for your brain to wind down and think of something else other than the multiple works tasks you’ve got to complete the next day.
Develop your communication skills
And practice really does make perfect and improves your reading skills. Developing a regular reading routine will help speed up how fast you can read, making it feel less of a chore.
It’s great for communication skills too, helping you to win at work and in relationships with friends and colleagues too!
So, dig out your good reads and get down to our Book Swap in One Central Boulevard and see which others titles might inspire you to read more in 2025.
