A local school has benefited from IM Land’s commitment to delivering a sustainable new community at Blythe Valley Park (BVP) near Solihull with a £2,000 donation towards its online teaching programme.

Cheswick Green Primary School is using the money from IM Land, the strategic land arm of IM Properties, to purchase new iPads to help prepare pupils for their future and use of digital learning.

IM Land is delivering the new homes in partnership with Bloor Homes and Crest Nicholson, as part of IM Properties’ mixed-use scheme near junction 4 of the M42, which has already established a high-quality working environment for a range of innovative businesses.

Amelia Haines, head of IT at Cheswick Green said the new iPads will provide a great support for the school’s new computing scheme of work.

“The children really enjoy working on the iPads. They help to motivate, enthuse and engage children and the wide range of Apps support different ways of learning.”

“They are amazing for times tables and we’re seeing the children make really good progress using them.

“The iPads are so quick and easy to use, they make learning fun and they are very interactive, providing a great primary classroom resource for pupils and teachers.”

IM Land’s technical director, Richard Knight said they were delighted to support Cheswick Green on its digital learning journey.

“Technology is an increasingly important element of all of our lives and we’re happy to help Cheswick Green deliver a new programme of online learning to their pupils.

“Maintaining the quality of the education experience available to BVP residents is crucial. As such we are already working with the local authority, contributing £5.5m to help local primary and secondary education accommodate growth from new homes in this region.

Knight added:

“We’re also fortunate to be in a superb setting here at BVP, so we’re hoping we can enrich children’s learning even further and work with Cheswick Green in the long term to benefit from the rich wildlife and abundance of public open spaces we are improving on the site.”

200 homes are expected to be completed on BVP this year and a neighbourhood centre, which includes a convenience store, retail unit and 48 apartments is due to open Q2, 2021.
